Upgrading aged care facilities
We are undertaking major projects for the Australian Nursing Home Foundation, a provider of culturally-appropriate aged care for the Chinese community. This work comprises an extension to the Bernard Chan Nursing Home, an activity centre providing dementia and frail aged day care Known as the So Wai Lifestyle Activity Centre, and upgrades to the 34-unit Lucy Chieng Gardens residential facility in Campsie. The remedial works will improve bathrooms and terraces to provide a comfortable and safe environment for residents.
Constructing new schools
We are assisting Rissalah School – a K-6 school in Lakemba – with the construction of a new building and the refurbishment of existing facilities. As project manager, CBS Projects is managing both the architect and the builder to ensure all aspects of the project are completed to the client’s requirements and delivered on time and within budget. The work is funded through the Building Education Revolution and we also assisted Rissalah with the grant application process.
Refurbishing university buildings
We worked with the University of Technology Sydney to deliver a high-quality facility for the main Sydney test centre for the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Test. The refurbished building features a high-quality contemporary office fit-out with a sophisticated lighting scheme and has improved access for international students. Within a tight construction schedule of eight weeks, the work was managed around the class schedules in the adjacent teaching spaces to minimise impact on academic activities. We also managed a construction schedule around term schedules for the refurbishment of two buildings for the University of Western Sydney.
